DJ Techtools Eprom Video – Confused about how he did this…

Hey everyone,

I just watched the DJ TechTools How I Play: Eprom video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEIdFZrgkqU) and I was inspired by this set up but I was confused about what he does to mix between songs. I understand that he uses his “crossfader” to crossfade between his steady un-altered track and his sample-based triggering track, but how does he actually smoothly mix from one song on Deck A to another on Deck B and back and forth?

Does anyone know?

He doesn’t mix in the sense that you’re probably thinking.. Check out 5:05-5:45

Does he just find and trigger the next track to launch with his trackpad? Is this better than using an APC or something similar?

From what I could tell he’s def. launching from the trackpad. I’m in the process of building a kontrol f1 mapping that emulates his template and was hung up on the launching. Goes to show how powerful a simple rig can be.
