DJing Template for Xponent and Ableton Live

I’ve spent the past two days working on a DJing template for use with an M-Audio Xponent and Ableton Live. It’s still a work in progress, but I figured I’d show what I have so far.

Ableton Setup

Xponent Template

Features:

  • 4 deck support
  • APC40 “Red Rectangle”/Grid View
  • 6 effects per deck
  • Tempo/BPM tracker (Different groups of LEDs in the progress bars flash for the 1 2 3 4 of each measure)

To be added:

  • On the fly looping per each side (A/C and B/D)
  • Shift modifier (Xone:62 DJ EQ)

I still have a ton of buttons on the Xponent that can be mapped. Did I miss any super obvious features/functionality?

I’ve been neglecting this template due to a bunch of school work, but here’s a new function I just added a couple minutes ago. I think it’s pretty genius :smiley:

It’s a beat repeat controlled by the speed and direction you spin the platters!

This is for use with Ableton Live, there is no .tsi

You just need to create a backup of Torq’s DefaultMidi.settings file with the control

assignments deleted. Before launching Torq, remove this file and the defaults will be

restored when Torq launches, allowing you to have all controls mapped. When you want to use

it with Ableton again, copy the backup to the folder and you’ll have the setup with the

assignments delted.

You could create a folder in the preferences folder to put it in (call it Ableton); then

just copy the midi settings file from the Ableton folder to the preferences folder and

overwrite the existing file and you’ll have the setup with controls deleted. I would also

suggest keeping another backup copy of that file somewhere else (like your documents folder

or something); just in case you accidentally move instead of copy the file and then delete

it thinking you still have the backup.
