DJM 750 or DN-X1600

DJM 750 or DN-X1600

I’m looking for a 4-channel mixer with a built-in sound card to replace my Xone 62. I’ll be using 4 channels of traktor and want an aux input for ableton (i’ll be using it with a push) from my laptop sound card. I can get a DJM 750 new for like $900 at PSSL, or I could get a used DN-X1600 for like $650 on ebay. I’ll be using Traktor’s effects and don’t care about the mixer’s effects engine. Anybody got any suggestions about which mixer they recommend?

Neither mixer has a 5th Aux input from what I can tell.

I plan on doing the dirty and turning the mic down very low :stuck_out_tongue:

Or use the return feed

The 750 is not traktor scratch certified if that matters for you. The DNX1600 is, and also has a rediculous level of midi implementation. My vote is for the dnx, as it gets nothing but rave reviews and you wont be paying the pioneer premium for less features. Believe me when I say the dnx is bombproof. It would be my mixer of choice if I didnt get such a good deal on my Z2…

What about upgrading to a used 92?

Agreed.

Does the DN-X sound card still have some issues?

I bought the djm-750 a couple of weeks ago. I must say: very good mixer for the price! It is true the dn x-1600 has a badass midi implementation, but if you want to get used to the usual club mixers go with the Pioneer. It is basically a djm 900 without the extra x-pad and channel faders. The soundcard, eq’s, (beside the color of the knobs), effects are all the same.

So it’s up to you:
-Do you want to implement software commands in your mixer? —> x-1600
-Do you want to learn the industry-standard mixers and like the pioneer layout/quality? —> DJM-750
