DJTT Official Quesiton: What is your favorite LOCAL DJ store?

Hello DJTT Community!

DJ TechTools is doing some research in our store department and we are curious.

What are your favorite local DJ stores? Where do you go to buy equipment, records, ect? (When you can’t get it in the DJTT store ) Where do you like to rent DJ gear?

We have a big project we are working so any help is greatly appreciated and this question is open to any city worldwide!

Best,
Dean

Guitar Center

Guitar Center is the best thing we have in my neck of the woods for actual gear. Their selection is decent, but the true finds are in the used gear. Plus, you get 30 days to play with the gear and return it if you don’t really like it.

For records, there’s a pretty big shop that contains lots of house and techno called Twist & Shout. All the other record stores in town suck for club-type stuff.

I like Rock and Soul in NYC they have live events there and its pretty cool.

GC is the best I’ve got as well.

GC…

Steves music… they check and sometimes even repair my electronics for free… i get top rate service and am on a first name basis with half the staff  what more can i ask for

Steves music is good here in Toronto too.

i have no local store. if i drive 3.5 hours i can go to GC. so i get most things from DJTT, amazon or some other online shop.

Agreed - I’ve been buying gear from him since before he was even called Bop DJ - top bloke.

For records try Waxwerks on East Parade & Tribe outside the Corn Exchange

Also, here in Chicago we have Gramophone Records

i go to the ottawa and montreal ones

I am so sorry that is your only option and that it is so far away. I’m glad we could help by shipping directly to you!

Just ordered some vinyl from them. They sell gear too?

Platinum records in Portland, Oregon is the only local shop that I know of in these neck of the woods. I used to go to this one shop in Kaneohe, HI behind Windward Mall back in the days but I’d imagine that it’s closed by now.

Not that I’m aware of

Yeah Tribe has some nice stuff - didn’t realise about Waxwerks - shows the last time I bought any records
