Hi, I saw a dJ last night and he was awesome. Now I wants. What should I buy? Pc or mac? Traktor or mixxx- what software? Should I get a controller? Can you guys make mixes for me and I can play them? That should be easier than doing it myself right? And lastly, I heard the sink button is cheating, but I don’t believe it. Please help me!!! I have a gig in 20 minutes…

i´d say get traktor scratch pro 2. also you should buy a pioneer djm2000 as well as a pair of cdj2000. tt wise i´d recommend you a pair of techniks 1210 mkII. headphones beats by dre or hd 25 adidas edition. when it comes down to controlers i´d say get a ni s4 or a ddj-t1.
edit: that´d be a set back on around 10k $. not bad for a beginner!
Perfect. Although, I feel as if a Xone DB4 would be more fitting to his taste, maybe some studio equipment too. A Virus TI, the full Pro Tools Suite, Logic, everything made by Moog, and a separate desktop would be needed (make sure it’s Mac or no-one will take you seriously).
Edit: Woah, that was close, I almost forget to mention that he needs an EFX-1000.
In other news, wait for the Traktor S2 to be released and start with that. If you don’t like that then buy a Novation Twitch or DJTT VCI-100SE from the buy/sell section.
Duuuude. You should have recommended the 1210 m5gs. They look totally kickass with the blue leds and piano black finish, and actually do kick extra ass with the increased anti-skating, switchable 8/16 pitch range and improved tonearm suspension. Which will be very helpful for all the feedback he’ll be getting from those Funktion One monitors pointed right at the decks!
