Do you use ear protection when playing out?
I’ve just bought a set of Alpine Musicsafe Pro myself today.
Have a pair of them. Use them most of the time, when there is monitors in place.

Yes , i use a set of elacin pre made ones, need to get custom molded ones though,
i’m worth it and i already have bad tinnitus, 10 years of decibel abuse, the damage happened after i’d bought the elacins, but i was too proud to wear them in front of other djs, so instead i listen to sine waves all day every day.
I use the same ones, I carry them everywhere might never know when I need them. Little by Little im starting to use in ear monitors when I play out.
Never tried putting ear defenders in and using on-ear headphones?
Ive never liked using in ears too fiddly.
Sadly I will never forget going to Ibiza in 2007 due to the constant ringing in my ears!!Have other great memories too but this one will not go!Got a pair of those plugs since and they are great!I keep meaning to get custom moulded ones though for comfort!
yep but I usually only wear them for about a third of the time, I know I should have them in the whole time, but when I wear them I feel so isolated from the party/dancefloor and can’t get into the groove of my mixing

Use a pair Etymotic ER20s whenever go to a gig/bar/club and have persuaded several mates to do likewise. I don’t play with them in unless the monitors are ridiculously loud.

Not when playing, the disconnection to the floor, the feeling of ultimate power etc etc… but if someone else is playing and its a proper loud gig I do.
ER20s. Wear them whenever it’s slightly loud wherever I am.
I would like to buy a pair of smaller earplugs that I can wear with my headphones though.
My Alpines are fine with headphones on

i got these too now after the ones that OP has. i like the etymotic ones better soundwise! really if you go to a party it usually sucks when you put them in because it doesnt feel loud enough but when the night moves on and the djs start turning the mixers into the red i’m always so thankful i’ve put em in. at like 6am it’s basicly too loud even with earplugs in at like any venue around here. they blast their ears out in the first few hours and since they still want to hear anything they totally abuse the system.
