Does anyone recommend the DJM-700?

Does anyone here think that the DJM-700 is any good? I know it’s getting outdated and all, but I’m finding good deals on them and probably wouldn’t be able to afford an 850 or 900 anytime soon. Good deal meaning like $700 for one in great condition. I don’t really want any other brands cause I’m one of those “Pioneer” guys… Controllers are really boring me now and I want to switch back to cdjs. By the way my plan was to get the cdj-850’s along with it.

after having owned the djm 600, the 700 doesnt look much different. im part of the anti pioneer brigade so wont be much help.

but my djm has fallen to pieces and is in taters. eqs bleed like fuk, 1 channel complketly died and the fader is one of the worst ive used. plus it bleeds like christ on the cross

It’s ok, but if I were you I’d cruise eBay for a while and look out for a good deal on an 800. The 700 and 800 are both much better than the 600 sound quality wise, the 700 has a filter (only one), but the 800 has full color FX per channel. There’s a comparison vid by agiprodj on YouTube.

There are loads of second hand 800s around at the moment, you should be able to find a bargain if you’re patient.

I owned a 700. I liked it alot. Had a pile of effect, and a filter knob with channel select for it. Overall sound quality was great, effects were spot on.

Things I missed though… dedicated filter knobs and the color effects on the lines themselves. However I learned to work around this quickly. The 700 is miles ahead of a 600, just feel alone. But not too far off from an 800, if you can find a good deal on it take it, otherwise look for an 800 at slight increase, the extra 100-200 worth the extra if you can find a used 800.

Are the color effects really worth it? I hear people say that they’d rather have the manual filter instead on the 700.

it’s a decent mixer if you dont have much choices, otherwise get the 800 due to the reasons mentioned above

Filter is one of the color FX. The filter is the same, but the 800 has 4 instead of 1.

That’s the one, linking videos on a phone is a PITA!

Boy am I impatient but it seems the 800 is way better…

video is from 2007, wow it feels ancient when compared to the next big thing released today..just my opinion though, nothing to be taken seriously

There’s no denying that really.

It looks as though a used DJM 800 and Xone 92 cost about the same, so the real question is: DJM 800 or Xone 92? I find myself in a similar position not really knowing which of the two to go for?

The xone 92 has a 4 band eq doesnt it? This totally threw me the first time I played on one, I ended up cranking the high’s instead of the gains :s

The A&H is a great mixer, but the pioneer will be more ‘standard’, yagetsme?

standard depends on what genre you play. most of the big game techno DJs for example almost exclusively use A&H mixers. but you are probably right as for finding at least one pioneer mixer in most clubs these days.

I was looking on ebay and saw the xone 92 also. Though I’m kind of an 'effects’s type of guy. I don’t think I’d be satisfied with the xone. That new RMX-1000 is looking awesome too.

The RMX and an 800 would be a killer combo.

honestly save up for the 800. You can get decent deals on ebay these days with the release of the 850 and 900

Much better sound, and the colour effects are decent.

That’s what I’m going for now. I gotta sell my soul though I’m still a college student HA.

haha i am in the same boat mate! well worth the wait trust me! although now i want a 900! damn it!
