I should also mention the plastics being bowed shouldn’t be too big a deal. The flat metals of a new LCD should self correct. But if that sort of thing annoys you then you could pick up the entire assembly.
I have my completely display disassembled right now (right next to me actually). The lid, bezel, and hinge cover (?..for lack of a better term (it doesn’t cover any hinges…it’s the piece between the hinges)) are all aluminum and bowed.
My concern now is that if I don’t get a whole new display unit, I run the risk of cracking the LCD due to pressure from the bowed parts. I tried bending them back a bit already, but I definitely don’t have metal manipulation skills.
