Dropped My MacBook Pro, Got A (Service) Hookup For Me?

Dropped My MacBook Pro, Got A (Service) Hookup For Me?

So I cracked the LCD on my MacBook Pro.

15.4", Matte, LED, 2.4 Penryn.

If you got a hook up so I don’t spend $700 @ the Apple Store, that would be great.

I wouldn’t mind just buying the LCD, but the display assembly is slightly bowed.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

Damn dude, that’s shitty!

Goodluck on that one!

I should also mention the plastics being bowed shouldn’t be too big a deal. The flat metals of a new LCD should self correct. But if that sort of thing annoys you then you could pick up the entire assembly.

Thanks Monika.

I think I need the LED backlight LCD.

I have my completely display disassembled right now (right next to me actually). The lid, bezel, and hinge cover (?..for lack of a better term (it doesn’t cover any hinges…it’s the piece between the hinges)) are all aluminum and bowed.

My concern now is that if I don’t get a whole new display unit, I run the risk of cracking the LCD due to pressure from the bowed parts. I tried bending them back a bit already, but I definitely don’t have metal manipulation skills.
