*the main thing i want is to be able to do is just, drop the case on a table, open it up…play…close it up and leave. Nothing ever gets taken out the box, all I have to do is just plug in the lines into my sound card and start playing music.
I’ve been doing some research to see what type of mobile case would fit my set up. Here’s a few of my findings, maybe some of you have some ideas of what can be done, or if you already have a case that you might want to share with everyone.
Odyssey FZGS12MIX Glide Style 12" Mixer Flite Case
Ill post my setup pix when I get out of work, I use a road ready case for my vci. half the clubs that I’ve been playing at already have laptop/cdj stands so I end up leaving the case in my car
yeah, i can see it not being a laptop transport, but there’s possibly a way to custom cut foam so that you ‘could’ technically place your laptop for mobility.
of course this case isn’t “flight case” type material where you’d take on a plane. (i know some people who work on airlines, they dont give a shit about anyone’s baggage, they throw stuff around like it’s nothing)
nice case! what model is that? by the looks of it, there’s probably enough room to add my audio 1 soundcard and a hardrive (stands vertically). Just have to cut out the foam.
Now only if I could somehow get it to have a built in laptop stand that would be the *ish!!
might be the one i’m looking for. I did some of the measurements and it fits
case (inches): 20 wide x 22 deep x 11.5 high (exterior)
the vestax itself is (inches) 14 wide x 10 deep x 2 high
gives enough room to fit my lacie harddrive and audio1 kontrol soundcard
so when you bought your case, the foam that came with it, were there any instructions on how to cut it out? (lol, sounds like a dumb question, but I’ve never done it before…) any tips?
The foam was included…and it pre-cut. all you have to do is rip out the section that you dont need. its like playing tetris (backwards tho)
What I did with my VCI is I placed it near the bottom (as seen on the picture) and the flipped the vci upside down to place thumb tacks @ each corner. Once I center it, i ripped out that section but I left 1" on eachside top/bottom - left/right so the vci could fit nice and snug, i ended up going with 1/2" all around.
