FUUUUU bidding regrets Technics 1210 Mk. 2
So I was looking at these puppies: http://nl.kapaza.be/vlaams-brabant/2-technics-sl-1210-mk2-platenspelers-63088545.htm
It was really hard to find a good pair. These come with concorde needles (rather wish they didn’t)
He says they work perfectly, no pitch deviation and he says by all means test em out yourself.
I started texting the guy to verify some things: MUST buy with the styli and they have not been revised in any way.
He asked €700 for the pair and €300 a piece seems to be the going price in Belgium for a quality deck so I asked will you take €600 ?
He instantly replied: ok
And I was like FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU ! I should have started lower !
What do you turntable guru’s think ?
Yes, you should have started lower. But that’s the way of the world…
I also got another possible deal: €600 for a pair of M3Ds
But they are a bit damaged, something heavy fell on one of em and they are a bit bent and some paint chipped off (see 2nd picture)
Is this a far better offer ? Is there a significant difference in torque between Mk.IIs and M3Ds ?
no difference in torque, but the M3D’s have the pitch reset button, tbh im a fan of a purist and like MK2’s better
The pitch fader on the M3Ds is a little looser, but guts wise, pretty much the same deck.
What do you mean looser?
The pitch faders feel the same just no click.
I’ve always found when buying used the faders in MK2s are tight compared to used M3Ds. Mainly because they were never cleaned.
Sounds great ! I love pitch faders that are a bit stiffer and that have a click.
And because I usually don’t transition to other genres I wouldn’t have to use them a lot anyways.
