Gemini PMX-20 as Traktor Controller?
Does anyone have any experience with the PMX-20?
I’ve searched and found barely anything on the hardware, but it does look like it would suit my needs as a Traktor controller.
It has the word “gemini” printed on it. Don’t buy it.

Build quality?
How do pads, buttons & knobs feel?
Which controls can not be MIDI mapped?
Is it possible to unassign channels to the xfader?
Shouldn’t be much of a problem. Everything is MIDI mappable.
Interesting unit. And 2 channel version as well. Nice amount of buttons, one can use it as all-in-one controller for Traktor.
I will add those two as a new controller categories on MIDIMAPS so everyone can upload some mappings.
Please could you upload any mappings you have for the PMX-20 on the mappings page?
Also, do you have a manual for this?
Hi there! As I said previously, I no longer have the TSI files I used for testing the PMX mixers. It looks like they’re only supporting it’s use in VDJ now (which makes sense because VDJ has it’s own support staff). What I CAN do is give you a MIDI map of the product if you’d like. This will tell you how to get all the colors, how the paging works, etc. That mapping will be up to you to do, but it’s not too difficult. I remember I had a cool little mapping for the slicer that was a blast.
I know that isn’t ideal, but it’s been a few years since I was at Gemini.

Here is the MIDI spec for the PMX-20. It covers not only the basic messaging, but the paging behaviors. It also gives you the SYSEX to switch in and out of flat mode.
