Generation TXT

That is officially what I am calling the kids of today.

I go out to eat it’s all I see. I drive down the street it’s all I see. I try to have a normal conversation with someone without them throwing out random acronyms for words they can speak just as easily.

I know this sounds like I’m just getting old and not “hip” anymore but if that’s true so what. I’ve watched kids walk into doors and railings because they couldn’t care less about everything else except their phones.

To paraphrase a classic bill hicks bit “If someone falls out a window while (texting) … good. One less idiot”

And I see middle-aged men/women fiddling around with their iPhones, looking like idiots everywhere, what’s your point?

I’m old and lazy, why type when I can just call an talk?

Hah yeah my mate who DJs every saturday to a youngish crowd (he plays Metal/Emo etc) gets very very very angry when he sees people standing on the dancefloor texting people.

He calls them iPhone Clubbers. He hates it.

I have to agree that dancefloors are for dancing but i dont get heated like he does.

We have a thing called MixiT here in SA.

basically a phone chat vibe…like BlackBerry has…but this was before BB’s…anyway…

Fuckers sit and stare at their phones…so I made a rule at my house.

You welcome to use MixiT…but you do it on the porch.

On the bright side of things, it’s better for people to conduct their business over text quietly than to hear about it.
