Fair play, I’d never really thought of it in those terms. I suppose Traktor is only 89 quid and you could still use just a MIDI mixer without having to spend loads on controllers. Just seems like a ‘nice to have’ if you already have Live!
BUt Live actually STOPS you from Dj’ing. What you can actually do with Live is so vast, that you are constantly distracted from what you actually want to be doing - and that is playing tunes.
Traktor gave that back to me.
That’s great advice.. I’m still pretty early in my DJ “career,” so I guess I’m not too sure of what direction I want to go yet. I’ve been doing a lot of remixing recently, and Ableton is perfect for that, I just want to add some sort of performance component so I could potentially play some gigs. As soon as I get a job I’ll have some extra cash and I can grab an S2 with Traktor Pro included.. until then I might stick with Ableton and see what I can do with some new mappings and maybe the X-Session Pro.
If the Mix101 I’m failing at selling on eBay right now doesn’t sell, you can have it.
if you’re serious let me know, I can at least pay for shipping. PM me if eBay fails.
I was dead serious, but it sold for a whole five pounds on eBay last night. They’ve not paid me yet so if they bail I’ll send it to you instead.
