I have always wondered why the VCI - 100 has a “grounding” screw on the back nere were you conect the USB. I am can imagine it has to do with static electricity messing with the touch sensor platters. But has somebody here actual needs to ground the VCI - 100 ? Is there any condition in which I should?
That was an unexpected answer. So you actually grounded a turntable through the VCI … very interesting. Just curious, how did you got into that situation? Another DJ was playing before and needed to ground the turntable?
There’s a youtube video of it somewhere of a guy using timecode with his VCI-100. I think it’s a really good idea, myself. One I have been thinking of implementing except using my Remote 25SL
You should ground your VCi-100 if your laptop has no earth pin on the socket…
Under fault circumstances, i.e, a live component made contact with the metal casing, without an earth there’s a chance of getting a shock.
