Height of 1200 with dust cover

Can anyone tell me what the height of 1200 is with the dust cover on?

I am not home and need a quick measurement. Thanks!

Technics 1200 MK3D Dustcover Without Hinge Dimensions:

(17") X (13 1/4") X (2 1/2")

Thanks, Smittten.

I was actually wanting to know what the height is when it’s mounted on the deck. So deck + cover = x…

Thanks again!

My M5Gs are about 5 1/2 to 6 inches from the top of the dustcover to the desktop.
Can’t really give an exact measurement as my floor is uneven so the feet are unscrewed different amounts to compensate.

Thanks guys.

Smittten: I guess I could of look there to begin with.

Please forgive my laziness.

i charge by the link

Trying to figure out packing?

I hate shipping and packing 1200s, but probably because I’m lazy and hate shipping anything.

Yep … lol

I hate shipping stuff too, especially Technics because they are so damn heavy.

However, i do find that I rather sell them to members here that I know will appreciate them and get the chance to speak about their experiences, then sell them to someone whom I will never speak to again.

Yeah I would still prefer to sell local and not deal with packing and shipping and get paid cash but selling on here is nice too.

Let me know how you end up packing them it can be tricky

The last one I shipped did not have a dust cover, so I was extra careful. I shipped it in a 12x12x8 box, purchased from the UPS Store close to where I work. (perfect size).

I placed some bubble wrap under and around the tone arm, so If something pushed it down during shipping, it wouldn’t bend. I also placed a little piece of tape around the arm rest so it wouldn’t, magically/accidentally, release itself and become vulnerable.

I also taped down the platter on four sides(that a round object does not have .. lol). Just picture a piece of tape at 12,3,6,9 o’clock positions, so the platter would not fall out of place if the box was turned upside down.

Before placing the deck in the box, I put in some styrofoam peanuts at the bottom of the box.

After that, I wrapped the entire deck in bubble wrap twice and inserted it in the box. Since there was no dust cover, I used once of those UPS small shipping boxes (flattened) and made a protective arched roof over the deck and added some more peanuts and sealed the box.

This deck was shipped to Peru through USPS and made it perfectly, according to the buyer. Using this method, I felt confident enough it would make it with no harm, even the carrier threw box around. (something they would never do…. Lmao)

Hope this helps.

Ohh.. almost forgot… Luckily, I already had peanuts and bubble wrap available, so I did not have to buy it. That crap is pretty expensive)
