Help!!! Bended time coded vinyl!

Help!!! Bended time coded vinyl!

Can anyone help suggest how do i straighten my traktor scratch timecoded vinyl !!!

Not much chance of fixing a warped record… you’ll need to buy new ones.

back in the day i would take a SLIGHTLY bent record ( not one with ripples in it) and put it in the sleeve and lay it in direct sunlight for 15 mins or so, then take it out of the sun and place like 4 records on it ( to enforce the straight shape)and then a crate or flight case on top to press things back flat.

i have had varied success with this method , as it is more of an art than a science, but i always consoled myself with the knowledge that the record is already ruined.

I’ve heard of some people being successful using that method, but putting the vinyl between 2 pieces of glass. Not sure if it’s worth trying, or not… but like you said, it’s already ruined.

Sandwiched lightly between 2 sheets of glass in a warm place then left to cool between the glass works if it’s not too badly warped

but make sure you´ll do it slowly. don´t use forced heat. don´t let the sun shine straigt on the plates, also don´t put it on a heater. just a normal room and let it be there for at least 2-4 days

they’re cheap enough.. just replace them!!

a hair dryer will heat the vinyl up, then try and put it between the panes of glass. good luck tho. prolly better off buying new ones.

^This +11000211 ITS OVER 9000!!!

im gonna try n heat them up with hair dryer n flattened them first..

if it is still bend.. i might have to get new ones..

its a shame that they are brand newww!

Lesson learned then eh …

Seriously, even if you do get it back to being flattish, I’d buy another one anyway and keep the warped one as emergency backup.

whatever you do make sure you leave the record n the sleeve or youll make it worse by heating it

qbert method

when i get a warped record i just break out the iron and ironing bored, put it on high steam and after a few min its right as rain. Just don’t pick it up too quickly as it usually comes out pretty hot.

If they are NI timecode and they are brand new then take a photo of them and a copy of the receipt (date of purchase) and file it with NI support and they will send new ones to you.

I wouldnt bother trying to straighten em.

my question is: hod did that happen?

i live in malaysia very hot during the day n forgot to bring out the records

it was sandwich between my x1 n my soundcard in the bag for a couple of days :rage:

im so careless ..

dont think i can ask NI to replace it.. how long usually is the guarantee?

If they are massively warped it clearly didnt happen in transit. I dont think the warranty covers ‘sun damage’
