Help connecting my Korg Volca Bass

Just brought a Korg Volca bass and want to get it hooked up to my laptop to start recording stuff.

How do i go about this, as I have a laptop i’m not sure how i can connect it to my soundcard.

I brought a MIDI to usb cable with it to connect to my laptop but not sure if i need a mixer/rca cables/ jacks. Could anyone help me out ?

what outputs does your soundcard have? It doesn’t have a USB output to connect to your computer? Typically they’ll have that and you just plug the USB output from the soundcard straight to your USB inputs on your computer. If you’re talking the actual MIDI output to USB converter cable, that’s NOT what you want. Just go straight USB.

Once your soundcard is connected properly, you’ll probably want your VolcaBass connected to your laptop with MIDI/USB or perhaps your audio interface as well as Audio out on your VolcaBass to your soundcard.

Could you point me in the direction of what sort of interface I would need and I don’t have an external soundcard would I need one of those also? Really new to hardware for producing so any help/videos/links to products would be great

Are you using an external audio interface? The built in laptop interfaces are pretty junky and sometimes don’t even have a line in. You’d need to add the model of laptop and interface for any real help. @ImNotDedYet, the Volcas don’t have usb midi, just old school 5pins

I have an asus K55A and nothing else external, although i have a djm t1 mixer and think it may be possible to run the volca through that then into the laptop ?

Does the T1 soundcard have line in’s for recording? That’s basically what youre looking for.
