Hey, quick question… I’ve searched but haven’t really received the advice I was looking for.
Anyway…
I’m looking at a Machine Mikro MK2. I don’t mind spending the extra loot on a regular Maschine, but I don’t know if I NEED it for what I want to use Machine for.
I don’t intend on using Maschine as a live controller, I’m just interested in creating sounds at my desk. I do not mind using a mouse and utilizing more of the software function, actually I would probably like to use the software more-so.
It definitely will be a personal decision based on what you’re comfortable with…what your work flow is. For me, the MK2 is perfect. Having the 8 tangible knobs has been absolutely stellar for my creative flow. Again, I don’t know your workflow, but I personally could never get into the Mikro.
Depends on what you really want to do. Maschine isn’t a full DAW, so if you want to produce full tracks und you’re not buying Maschine for the controller you should definitely have a look at DAWs like Ableton, Cubase, Logic, etc.
the maschine holds up just fine and can do pretty much anything.
I would advise the larger maschine because having those extra knobs is extremely handy for tweaking and recording automation, and also most importantly, are what make maschine the best and fastest way to chop samples.
maschine stands out bc you can do mostly everything thing with the controller, if your genna invest get the normal sized one. Studio is overkill obv, but i use my maschine mk1 for performance all the time!
Spring for the full-size Maschine, or the Studio if you can or would like to treat yourself. The Mikro doesn’t really have the right workflow in my opinion.
