i want to use a fatar vfp1/25 sustain pedal as a foot switch to turn on an off midi page 2 , but traktor and the bcr 2000 don´t receive a message from it.

with my m-audio oxygen v2 everything is ok…

do i need another pedal or is there an option i forgot?

sorry for my poor english, but i hope someone can help me

greetz from munich

Maybe see if Bome Midi Translator or Midi Ox can receive the signal and then translate it into something that Traktor can understand.

baaaaah…

The BCR does not need Bomes or MIDIox.

Maybe try the second footswitch input
Have you calibrated your footpedal already?

Otherwise make sure what mode your BCR says your footpedal is in, is the correct mode:

  • Global Edit mode > Auto/Normal/Inverted

Play around with that?

thanks for answers,

i already played around with the edit functions…

in preset mode 2 the bcr receives the signal from the pedal, but traktor don´t understands it.

any other ideas?

Doesn’t understand it, meaning that you can’t use it for MIDI Learn?

yes exactly,

i looked in midi monitor —> in pres. 2 mode it sends an sys ex, in pres. 3 it sends a control 0/127 message, in other modes nothing.

i tryed both in traktor but the learn function doesn´t understand…

And you’re sure you have the pedal connected to switchport #1?

This is why I was suggesting Bome… There seem to be some notes and CC values that Traktor doesn’t understand. Perhaps, they’re reserved. I’d try translating the values you have to another set of values before you pull all your hair out.

Nah, I am thinking the BCR may only be compatible with only a few types of footpedal.

Thing is, the BCR displays what MIDI messages are sent, also what type and what channel.
(So to me there is absolutely no need for MIDI sniffing by means of software)

@tekki

then please test with midi monitor which messages are sent with your bcr and try to midi learn in traktor, if you got it tell me how because i´m frustrated with this shit

Dude, I wish I could help you more, don’t have a foot switch.

You wouldn’t be using it to figure out which MIDI messages are being sent… you’d be using it to translate to a MIDI message that Traktor can use.

I’ve tried to use some MIDI messages before that Traktor could not understand for some reason. I used Bome to change them to something Traktor could use.
