you can use an apple script to do a batch remove of specific counts of characters. or you could use trainspotter / musicbrainz picard to dl the correct info and modify the id3, or the filename.
if you do the id3 tags, there are more options to do it right, and a nice frontend will just read those and disregard the actual filename.
Thank you kind sir,
I did google before, but since I didn’t know how to correctly put it. I was getting off results. There is a lot of file re-namers out there appearently. I went with the method of deleting the 1st few characters in the title using a quick program called Antrenamer. Man, its so simple thinking back all those hours I would sit there mind numbly rename tracks all individually : [.
Thanks you saved me a hell of alot of time and frustration!

I got AntRenamer from here: antp.be > Software > Ant Renamer (Nod32 scanned clean)
Please take a look at your starting post and edit it properly. Don’t want us to help you with illegal activities, do you? ![]()
are you going to play all those singles? I dont library things for the sake of having a big collection…listen as you go…keep the ones you like…rename only the ones you keep…
I use FileRenamer:
It works great. Find & replace, add prefixes/suffixes, delete a set number of characters from the file name (starting at the start or the end of the file name).
Use this in conjunction with MP3Tag and all your file naming/tagging needs are sorted!
Kid3 does the trick for me
I suck it up and do it manually.
It’s the only way I know it’s going to be 100% correct. But alas, it is a pain in the ass.
That being said, what you’re doing is illegal and while I realize it’s something that was “kind”, it’s also something to be said to building your own collection legally.
Edit* I forget how sensitive the interwebs is nowadays. -.-
Excellent edit bro’. ![]()
