so i am having trouble connecting all this hardware correctly.
i am trying to run 2 cdjs and 1 pioneer mixer to run traktor.
i got everything working with just using CDs, but when it comes to connecting it to my computer so the traktor data reads through and all works im not sure exactly the parameters – does anyone perform with this setup that can message me and ill show you what connections i have so far to fix?
i have both cdjs USB connected to my mac and also the mixer USB connected.
i can scroll through on the screens and see my songs in traktor. and when traktor is playing music i can mess with it on the mixer, but none of the CDJ buttons work.
and to do the firmware update i just follow that process on the link i put up? okay i think youre right actually. i just wasnt sure because im on a mac and when i upzipped the file from their site i didnt really recognize those file types
now all i gotta figure out is how to set up the audio routing… when i open up the external mixer tab of traktor and go to the audio tabs all i see if “left” and “right”… doesnt seem like enough options?
Also, once you get 2.5.1, make sure you change your CDJ900 HID mode to advanced! Hold down the menu button, scroll down to HID mode and flick it to advanced
Audio routing. You can either use your DJM as the sound card completely or use the cdj900.
You ll need to set up the CDJs as aggregate devices if you wanna use the CDJs as your sound card. Check the pioneer website for instructions and a program to automate that process.
if i choose the nexus 900 as my audio device, then my CDJs dont control my traktor decks.
but if i choose my CDJs, all the controls work perfectly, but i dont have any options other than “front left” and “front right”. here is below
see those 3 images? one is with the nexus 900 selected as the audio driver, (i get alot of output options, but no control of the traktor decks by the CDjs)
the other is the CDJ-900 as the audio option (where i get all the control but like no audio output options – only front left and front right)
Let’s use your Nexus as the Audio Device for simplicity.
All the outputs on your nexus will be listed from 0 to 9
0 will be equivalent to Channel 1 on your Mixer L, 1 = Channel 1 R
2 and 3 = Channel 2 L and R
4 & 5 = Channel 3 L and R
Etc.
Go to your settings
“Audio Setup” , “Audio Device” - nexus
Go to settings
“Output routing” - “output deck A” L and R use 0 & 1
Output deck B use 2 & 3.
Sound should come out of these two mixer channels now on your nexus . Don’t forget to select the appropriate sound source on the Mixer itself.
Then go to controller manager and check if the 900s are listed
