[Help] Suggest me a *cheap* 2 Channel Mixer with BUILT IN Audio Interface?

[Help] Suggest me a cheap 2 Channel Mixer with BUILT IN Audio Interface?

editeditedit: Thanks to shr3dder for helping me understanding how setups work with turntbles.

I’ll just have to save up for the Kontrol Z2.

Z1

I never even knew there was a Z1.

In any case, it’s a bit above my limit, but does it have an audio interface built in? (so I could hook up my 2 turntables to it?)

Yes it does have a built in audio intereface:

If you’re looking to use DVS you need a Traktor Scratch Certified mixer/soundcard. IMO, you really shouldn’t be trying to skimp on all these things. You’re going to end up with either a really shitty pair of turn tables with a scratch mixer/card, or a crappy pair of turntables with no scratch certified mixer.

I’m pretty sure the Z1 doesn’t let you use DVS though.

I think you’re asking for something that doesn’t exisit. That new DJ Tech mixer is close to the right price and has DVS capabilities but it won’t work with Traktor.

Edit: My bad no audio interface on the DJ Tech..

There is one thing. Good old BCD3000

This.

Unless you find a Craigslist gem. You might be able to pick up a (very) low end mixer and audio 2 for that price.

BCD3k has phono preamps, audio interface and fit the price.

I’m getting a pair of Stanton Str8-80, so would I be able to plug them in into the Traktor Z1?

edit: nevermind, you can’t.

I stumbled across this on Amazon, is this even a mixer? What is this supposed to be? Can I hook up my turntables to it?

I don’t even think it has the standard Full Band EQ’s

Nope. That’s more for recording etc.

Even if you do find a mixer for under $150 it won’t allow you to use your Turntables with Traktor. It needs to be a Traktor Scratch Certified mixer and they don’t exist for anything close to that price…

Like Stewe said the BCD3000 fits for what your asking (more a controller then a dedicated mixer though I’d say?) , I’ve never used one so I’m not sure if it’ll work with Traktor Scratch but I’m sure someone here will know.

So I guess my other option would be to buy a Numark M2 Mixer and a SoundBox Audio Interface.

Alright then. Thanks for the help everyone.

Well yeah, but why do you need the Audio Interface? It still won’t let your turnies work through Traktor. You need a Traktor compatible soundcard for that. Like an Audio 4/6/8/10..

Unless you need the audio interface for something else then just ignore what I’m saying

Wait wait, so I need an Audio 4/6/8/10 to make my Stanton STR8-80’s work with Traktor? I thought that means I won’t be able to use my laptop if I’m using a mixer + two turntables connected to the Audio 4/6/8/10?

Ok. I think I’m explaining this badly. Apologies if I’m just confusing the sh*t outta you.

Do you want to play vinyl on the turntables? Like your own record collection… If so no audio interface nor Traktor is required. Unless you just want to mix internally with traktor, which is a little strange but fair enough.

If you want to use your turntables as a DVS setup with Traktor and your Mp3s etc then you need either a Audio 4/6/8/10 or a Traktor Certified Mixer. You can’t just use any old cheap soundcard… It doesn’t work that way.

Ohhh…that makes a lot more sense, thank you.

I suppose I’ll just save up for the Traktor Z2 then.

That’s what I’d recommend. Sadly this stuff isn’t usually cheap dude.

The BCD3000 might be worth looking into though, you’d just have to get someone to clarify if it works as a DVS setup. I have no idea.

DVS is still cheap compared to CDJs :expressionless:

If you have firewire, consider picking up DjliquitATL’s Korg Zero 4 in the for sale section. It’s scratch certified, cheap, 4 channels, and in stellar condition. He knows his stuff and takes good care of it. He even has an innofader installed if you want that. That’s the cheapest scratch certified mixer w/ built in sound card that I can think of.

theres a mod to make any 4in/4out sound card work with dvs just be legit and actually buy traktor scratch pro
