Help with finding studio monitors & mic

Hello,

I want to set up my “beginner” home studio & wanted help with finding studio monitors & a mic. I’ve heard that I should not compromise on the studio monitors & mic but would prefer to not spend over $500 for both.

I would love to get a pair of Yamaha HS5 speakers & AT mic but both could cost me close to $800 or more.

Anyone have other less expensive suggestions?

In my day job (Commercial radio - Commercial distribution), we’ve just added these to a couple of our distribution booths.

For the price & size, they’re really impressive

I totally agree, PreSonus Eris E4.5 is really great for beginners and it also produces great quality sound at a very affordable price which is a huge plus.
