Hercules 4 MX, Traktor X1 - Question on dual mapping

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to how I can custom map the controllers so I can use the X1 for only the effects and use the Hercules for the mixing. Thank you

This video is a good start

Make sure both ins and outs (top right of controller editor) match the device your mapping so your signals don’t get crossed or confused.If all ports is selected a mixup is likely to happen when using 2 midi controllers. Once you get the hang of modifers It becomes more like busy work as Traktor’s editor isn’t always the most efficient… A good way to familiarize your self with modifiers is import a tsi file of a map, open the editor and see how different buttons effect the states of modifiers M1-M8. Hope it helps.

IM still confused as how to use both at the same time? I try to map my X1 but i can’t change anything on the IN’s and OUT’s..it just says NONE. Sorry for being a noob lol

Just make 2 separate .tsi files, one set to the 4 mix and the other to the x1 and I would just modify the nhl preloaded mapping for the x1 rather than make a new one.

So if Im trying to make it so I only use the X1 for effects and loops..would I keep all the Assignment Table options for the 4MX the same, except remove anything involving effects and loops? Then just do the opposite for the X1?

That would be the idea, now you would be able to map extra functions(hotcues, loop recorder, sample decks, etc) for the 4MX now that you have the FX buttons freed up.
