I have a hard time coughing up $80 for the Native Instruments Kontrol X1 gig bag just to raise my controllers up to standard height. It smacks of exploitation…
Does anyone have any tips or advise for raising the controllers up to standard height?
I have 4 of the metal ones, and one of the original bag type (they’ve had 3 different designs from memory). I use the metal ones for my pair of X1mk2 and F1 that I take to gigs, another is on my Z1 and the bag type that I used to use with my original X1 is used with my TA10 because it also fits some RCA’s and the PSU (it zips at the top and so has more space than the current version).
I like the metal ones the best, great protection when transporting, perfect height for beside mixer, also good for a laptop stand (upside down) on turntables when space is a premium and I’ve found that the space that’s created when I have an X1 and an F1 beside each other is perfect to put my soundcard to keep it out of the way.
I know they’re expensive but they come on sale every now and then.
