First of all kudo’s for including the track list but man… the BPM was way to high IMO especially of you look at “Major Lazer ft DJ Snake - Lean On”. This kinda ruined the mix for me, but other people might like it this way.
Very cool mix, nice selection of house music. A bit of underground and some mainstream tunes as well
+1 about BPM. It was too high on most tracks. IMO depending on each track it’s best to variate it through the mix but i’d never go higher than 131-132 for house.
For example, Disciples - They Don’t Know is about 125 BPM and if you play it at something like 135 it just doesn’t sounds right and it kills the vibe of track.
Other than that your mix was very good.
Thanks for the advice. I’m kind of old skool in this respect where I crank every thing up to plus 8 on the Technics! I like the fast vibe and urgency this brings to the mix. I know some people might not like this after listening to a track at a normal speed, but a lot of the old skool house/garage DJs used to purposely speed up tracks to give them a more bouncy feel. I do hear you on the fact if a track sounds like the Chipmunks singing then it is probably too fast!
