Promotion is part of DJ’n yes, but wouldn’t say half. But what i mean is why do people think for hours and hours on end, if your going to have a name it should come natural i think. ![]()
I like Anski
If your really want some choices, check out a random name generator (usually for like fantasy role playing game characters) they can have some pretty wacky (and always pronouncable) stuff.
Another name I go by was one I took from the sender of a scam email I received ![]()
I just wanted to share this with you before you set your heart for sure on ANSKI.
I totally idolize guys like Gareth Emery, Ben Gold, and Jordan Suckley. Now, I understand that they are Prog House/Trance guys, but it would seem as though they’ve set out quite a cool rule with creating a name:
First name + a cool word/place/item for a last name = an awesome DJ name.
I think this has worked for quite number of DJ’s, like Dash Berlin, Alex MORPH, Mark Knight, Chris Lake, Ronski Speed, Thomas Gold, Gary Proud, Will Dragen.
So naturally, I picked the name James Rizen.
I hope that helps, even though I understand you may not be a Prog House/Trance guy.
Anski does fall into the same name as Rusko, Netzki, Datsik, Scuba, Vaski, and 1000 other dubstep dj’s ‘sort’ of names.. they just resemble eachother..
Knobtwiztah.
On a serious note, it’s just my last name.
I’m starting to think mine is really pretty lame all of a sudden… Not to highjack, but can I get a real quick “change that” if it’s pretty gay?
i was watching “enemy at the gates” (with ed harris) the other night and i was reading something about paris hilton (or maybe it was her movie
). so i came up with ed paris.
georg graf (real name) doesn´t really cut it.
George Graf is not bad - better than James Clark (how less original could it be? I’m the fourth, no less!)
I’d make people call you James Clark the 4th every single time and make a big fuss if they forget the 4th bit.
My name comes from a nickname that caught on in my group of friends (Danger Dan) and an obsession with massacring words/removing vowels/liking how a bunch of lowercase letters look next to each other. I don’t think a name matters so much as long as it doesn’t say something dumb about you (DJ Crotchgrabber in tha howse!) and it’s easy enough to remember/pronounce… Don’t beat your head against a wall trying to think of one, see what your friends think and see what sticks/feels right and just roll with that?
As a classical cellist or composer (of orchestral or symphonic works) I don’t mind signing my manuscripts as ‘James Harry Clark IV’ but I think a DJ needs something a bit more relatable =D
Most people I know with really interesting nicknames got them while under the influence of various substances (THIS IS NOT A SUGGESTION, just sayin) like a guitarist from Berklee I knew once said (while high) “You can have some of my goldfish snacks ONLY if you say ‘Please, Chubby Bumpkins’ ok?” and that stuck for a while. He’s international now, so he doesn’t use that name anymore, but it worked for a while, and was memorable and fun. Now he’s “The Guy” … Maybe you should have your DJ name be “The DJ” =D
That would sooooooo be my dj-name. Absolutely awesome.
“Mecco Sauce” My name was given by some friends. We use to Pretend we had a club named Club Mecco’s. When I started djing they started calling me Mecco Sauce. For those that don’t know what Mecco means… It means sperm, cum, nut
I came on DJTT and was like “YO WHAT SHOULD MY DJ NAME BE HOMIES!” at the same time I realized that I wanted to be like Steve Aoki, or Digweed, or Sasha and be super famous with my own name, so I created a poll under with Coldfuzion or my own name and everyone was like “damn bro you so sexy you should use your name!” and I was like “I fuckin agree!”
The end.
Lol
I just used my initials “AARA”, which to me sounded cool. It my not be flamboyant but i wanted to be subtle and not come across as to overzealous
Take your first name and add a little swag to it. Like mine is nate. and i ended up with Dj Nasty Nizzle. Also google whatever Dj name you make up and make sure nothing else comes up!
DJ-X is pretty simple… my first name is Christopher and most people call me Christ (silent T). X is a religious symbol that represents the Christ, so there you have it. DJ-X !!!
My friend and I had the same problem. We started off with DJ Ruin. Until we released that was taken and kinda lame. We wanted something that would fit our style. Seeming as we play a lot of progressive house/trance and electro house it had to fit the part. So since we originally had 4 friends who helped purchase everything we decided on something with 4, and eventually came up with Fourth Frequency.
Thank you for sharing, this made my day ![]()
All I know is I like the people who can make their own name into a name (Ean Golden, Jeremy Ellis, etc).
And Akira Kiteshi. lol.
Right I think after careful thought the best dj name for the op is
