How do you video record your DJ Sets/Mixes

I’m looking into buying a GoPro for various other activities I take part in and was looking to implement it into my DJ sets, seems straight forward enough of recording and matching recorded audio with the video.

My question is, All you guys that post mixes up from home or in the clubs, what’s your device of choice?

I use a gopro, that camera is awesome! so useful!

How do you link up your audio to your gopro? What video/sound editing software?

personally I use the go pro software to do the first convert and remove fisheye then I use Final Cut Pro because it’s available to me. iMovie will work, I just did a test drive for a thread in the general section there’s basic steps outlined there.

I record the audio with ableton but whatever will work, I play vinyl so it’s just a stereo recording using the sound card in my mixer.

I’ve been using the Video future in Mixvibes Cross to mix 2 web cams with the music

Record your mix in Traktor (or what ever software you use) then replace the camera’s audio with the file from Traktor in iMovie or what ever video software you use.

I use my Canon T3i on a Manfrotto tripod with a Rode VideoGo mic, I’m still working on my sound skills.

Thanks folks, That’s what i’m looking for, peoples different setups. It’s good to see how everyone is getting video accross.

VanGogo, I know how i can go around putting the video and sound together, but just wanted to see what setups people are using.

Sorry! Thought I was answering ^this question.

How long can a GoPro record ? How long does a 16GB or 32 GB SD card last approximately ?
I was hoping to record 6 hours in one go.

for 6 hours you’ll need to plug it into to something to keep it charged, I heard you can do this with the latest firmware but I’ve not updated mine as of yet. with the battery back pack you get 2.5 hours or so.

26 minutes is 3.82 GB at 720P/60FPS. 60 FPS is probably overkill but I film a lot of motorcycle rides and don’t bother switching settings much.

^ That’s handy information to know!

I’ve just borrowed at Hero 3 from a friend for a few weeks to see how I like it, so away to start practicing with it!

6 hour video mix? Christ dude.
