how do you ...

how do you …

how do you guys control your other two decks in traktor pro ???

I use a combination of the Deck C “Performance Mode” on the VCI-100SE for fades and effects, and use the “hold down” Deck C button for quick transport commands.

I think I’m going to start using another controller though, but haven’t really began to think about which one. Otus RAW would be perfect if it were out.

not to go off subject, but someone needs to build an adequate controller for traktor one of these days.

i’m talkin
4 jog wheels and enough knobs, faders, buttons to control EVERYTHING.

I use a Trigger Finger for the most important functions on all four decks - Load/Loop/Play/Pause, as well as volume control for all 4 decks.

My VCI handles everything else for decks A/B, and if I switch MIDI pages, the controls for the VCI change to decks C/D.

EQ’ing is spread across both the VCI (Deck A/B) and Trigger Finger (Deck C/D).

EDIT: If I change the memory bank on the Trigger Finger, I can also jump between cue points on all four decks.

I use a four deck layout on my BCR.

I use my vci 100 + external mixer.
I it is really complicated to control the 4 decks and mix internally with the vci, because of the lack of faders. So this way I just use the vci for deck control, looping and effects. The mapping I did basically duplicates the vci , one mapping control deck a-b press a button and have the same control for c-d.

Anyways I am curious if Traktor pro would work with 2 vcis. I am really tempted

An adequate 4 deck controller with jog wheels and all would be a beast to move around.

I am working on a four deck map using my Remote 25SL, MIDIFighter, and possibly my VCI-100, depending on how much shit I want to carry with me. Once soft-takeover gets fixed on T1.1 (praying!) then it will be a lot easier to use four decks on the VCI-100.

Yes it would make it easier. Having infinite type knobs for effects on the vci would be the perfect complement. But still far from my ideal controller…

hopefuly be able to run two vcis on the same traktor v soon?

What’s the problem now with two vcis? Doesn’t traktor recognise them as two different in midi setup or what? Because vci has the support to use two vcis on same laptop since it can be booted in another channel.

i think i gotta go back to the 1.2 firmware to use it, but i think the new upgrade fixes that? im not sure

If I had a Euphonix MC Control I could think of a million ways to do this . Or better yet if Euphonix made an MC control DJ edition oh no I just jizzed in my pants .

so if i go and buy another vci 100 would i then be abel to use both at the same time in traktor haveing the ability to control all 4 decks

I don’t think so wouldn’t they both send the same messages?

I think Bento said you can put two VCIs on two diff channels?

I think I’ll try it out with the new TPro 14bit MIDI update as I’m really curious about playing gigs with my friend this way.

Yeah using a program like Bomes or Midi-Ox or Glove Pie ect to change the midi channel the midi is being sent over is the best solution.

The 1.2 firmware is ment to automaticly do this by itself without any software if 2 units are plugged in together at the same time though, not sure if vestax did this for the the 1.3 firmware though.

midifidler is the guy to ask

I think i remember talking to him about it and he was saying he was having problems getting it going, dont know if he ever did get it going without using translation software though.

The 1.2 firmware has the ability to boot the VCI-100 to send data to MIDI channel 2, instead of MIDI channel 1 as it normally does. This is done by keeping the top black button in the top left corner pressed when booting the vci-100.

This doesn’t seem to work with the 1.3 firmware though, which is a shame. But 1.2 owners should be able to setup 2 VCIs into one traktor 3.2/3.3/3.4. This is from the manual, I have no idea if the Traktor Pro supports this or what was done in the update from 3.1 to 3.2.

Theoreticly one 1.3 and 1.2 firmware should be able to work in one traktor ‘natively’ but as Bento already said, easiest method would be just to setup Midiox or similar program to change the midi channel of the other unit.

ya thats what i thought, it works on the 1.2, thats why me and midifidler arent using it yet, i think the next upgrade has a fix tho?
