How to connect microphone to Audio 4 DJ?

Hi friends.

I am planning buy a microphone for my prepaded live mixed show over the internet waves :slight_smile:
My choice is Sennheiser e835-S.

But question is - how can I connect it to my dj gear?:

  • MacBook Alu 13,3" 2.4GHz (late 2008)
  • Traktor Pro
  • Vestax VCI-100 SE
  • NI Audio4DJ
  • Sennheiser HD 25-C II
  • iPad + Touch OSC + OSCulator

Yeh some kind of XLR to RCA cable/adapter.

And how to set up mic in Traktor or Audio4DJ?

Select the channel you plug the mic into in preferences. Under the deck letter in traktor click on the arrow and select audio through.

Is needed some mic preamplifier?

There is just this information: Dynamic microphones don’t require their own power supply…

So, I don’t need nothing more to buy than mic, cable and reduction to RCA, right? :slight_smile:

So…I bought XLR to 1/4" and 1/4" to 2x RCA mono. Plugged in to my soundcard’s input “IN 1/2” in Audio 4 DJ.
In Traktor I select deck D and set as Audio Through. In Preferences → Input Routing in Input Channel D I set L (Mono) as 1: Ch A left. (R as -not connected-)

Is it set right? Because music is louder then my voice. Or mayby is really need some mic preamplifier…?
