How To - Embed Soundcloud and Mixcloud

Hey guys,

Just incase you didnt already realise you can now embed your soundcloud mixes in the forums.

In the post maker you will see a icon in the toolbar that looks like this - Screen Shot 2013-06-16 at 4.35.25 PM.png

  1. So the first step is to copy paste your soundcloud link into the post creator like this :

  1. Now highlight your link and press the soundcloud button in the toolbar, this will wrap the link in soundcloud brakets and will look like this except without any spaces:
    [ soundcloud ]

[ /soundcloud ]

  1. Now submit your thread, the embed player should end up looking like this:

If you cant see the soundcloud embed player then you may need to install\upgrade your adobe flash player. You can do that here - http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

How To Embed on Mixcloud

Works very much like the soundcloud embed - copy the html address when your on the of the mix that you want to link to (NOT THE PLAYER).

Like this:

NOT LIKE THIS:

Make sure your in advanced mode when your posting, paste the link into the new post editor, highlight the link and press the mixcloud button. Screen Shot 2013-06-16 at 4.36.36 PM.png

You can do write it out manually like this this [ mixcloud ]

[ mixcloud ]

Do that WITHOUT ANY SPACES and it will appear as the mix.

Personally i recommend mixcloud over soundcloud, however we will continue to support both. Mixcloud offers a free service while soundcloud has some major annoying restrictions you have to fork over a monthly subscription for to unlock.

is there a possibility to embed customised soundcloud players too?

How do you embed a youtube video? Or is that impossible?

Just paste the youtube link and it’ll embed.

do you know of any ways to have the mini player without being premium, so we can put our stuff in our sigs?
or any way to adjust the embedding

No, you have to be premium to get the mini player embed code generated.

you should change the length limit for urls. i wanted to embed a soundcloud link, but it was longer than 25 chars and thus didn’t go through… ;(

your mix cloud code is wrong.
you never closed the end tag with /mixcoud you just have mixcloud. just an FYI.

you can delete this post once you fix the original post then.

when the mix on Soundcloud is embed here on forum, and if someone will click on play to listen mix, does “plays/views” is included into SC account?
or the only way to get “plays/views” is to listen mix through original page on SC?

All the plays count mate, even/especially the rss link.

I was wondering, cause I put mix on forum, there was 30 views of the thread but views on SC didn’t change at all. Do people open thread with mix and don’t listen it even? Hmm, I don’t think so
