How to extract ressource out of an app and assign it back after modifications

I was wondering if you guys could help me with this…
I want to extract an image from traktor (that image of a vinyl that spins when you play with traktor scratch) than edit it on photoshop and reassigning it back to traktor…I know how to do it in windows OS but I would like to do it on mac OS X…
this is what I want…
This was done by a guy whom I gave all the instructions and in the end he didn’t want to show me how it was done…but anyways can anyone help me with this?
