How to make rising turbine like sounds for build ups?
Hey everyone,
I know how to make white noise swooshes, but those are starting to sound rather dull and generic to me. I was wondering if anyone knew how to make rising turbine sounds or any other kind of rising sound.
My main problem is how to get that pitch effect. Pitch bending in ableton only goes so far, and those sounds usually seem to go for more than one octave. How do you make a sound drag out and rise in pitch like that?

You could try programming an ascending scale(s) of midi notes (the shorter duration the better) in a synthesizer, then add the pitch bend on top of that. I dunno how it’ll sound, but maybe it’s what you need to spice up your mix! Hope this helps!
Look into making a shepard tone, and trying applying that to what you’re trying to achieve.

I think what you are trying to do is assign an envelope to the pitch on your synth/sampler. For ex, in the EXS24 you can assign destination to pitch and source to Envelope1. Set all env times to zero except attack which you can adjust to the sound you are going for.
