So I entered the Intel PowerUp competition that was on mixcloud recently and am pleased to say that I am through to the regional final tomorrow night in Birmingham!

I like that mix very much Dean, really nice vibe that stays true to the essence of House. You’ve got a good skill in track programming. Really like the ebb and flow of the tracks.
good luck and nice work on the mix. i like the old school vibe of it, though i have to say i was a little sad when i heard “intro” but then missed out on the vocal melody and super funky, groovin bassline in that cut. i think it’s just because i played that song so much it’s weird to just hear the beginning as a loop. still digging the vibes though!
I took a 15 odd year sabbatical from House/Garage, and when I came back about a year ago there doesn’t seem to be any Garage genres on the online shops, which surprised me. But this mix is very Garagey, and the original type not some of the horrible off-shoots.
Well it’s funny you should say that because it was UK garage that originally got me into DJing. It wasn’t until recently when someone else mentioned that I have a garage sound to my mixes that I thought about it and realised it is something that still influences me.
I am truly overwhelmed by the positive feedback I’m getting from everyone so thank you for that.
