What’s up families. So yeah, macbook crapped out for the first time I’ve ever seen before. No biggie, was opening and there weren’t many people in yet. No one really noticed. Playing two more sets during the night and will murder if it happens again. I restarted and played for another halfa or so with no dramas but need some advice for my breaks for what to do! Re install? Re boot a couple of times?
Holla quick!
Cheers peoples. Got throught the second set. Repaired permissions and verified so all pretty smooth. Seems I’ve got a mapping bug I missed though where a loop on deck a triggers one on deck b. Ahhh trouble shooting. Isn’t it grand this shit only ever happens at gigs!
Kill the WebKitPluginAgent using terminal or ActivityMonitor to make flash quit.
Verify/Repair Permissions.
Verify Disk.
Update Prebinding (google it…there are scripts online)
That has gotten me through every issue I’ve had that wasn’t caused by something else and didn’t take a long time to fix (and would have required a reformat/reinstall if it happened on windows).
Also…you should do 2-4 whenever you update your OS or software…. Yay for pro tools tech support actually teaching things.
Hahaha…you know its coming when one of these threads comes up because all I ever hear about from apple PR is how they don’t fail and never get viruses etc…honestly if ppl used PCs for only 3 years like most mac users, there wouldn’t be much issues but when they throw so much stuff on for like 5 years then something is bound to go wrong.
