I NEED OPINIONS!!! Traktor kontrol S4 vs the new pioneer DDJ-SX
As we all know serato dj is being released Nov. 1st. I was just about to buy a traktor S4 but then i heard about the DDJ SX. I just wanted to get a second opinion on this, because im currently sold on the DDJ SX. I don’t mind switching to Serato as im not really an effects guy, I just do simple mixing (old school way) and use cue points. But i also heard about izoptope effects being integrated into the new Serato software, so thats a plus. Price and the size of the controller doesn’t matter for me either. So what are you opinions??? let me know.
PS. I am still a novice dj, been doing it properly for almost a year. I currently use a VSM4 mapped to traktor pro 2. I do small house party gigs, nothing big but i produce my own tracks aswell. I usually mix house tracks, sometimes hip hop, pop, trance, dubstep etc. depending on the audience.
I’m also a VMS4 user and have ordered the DDJ SX.
The only ting about S4 that might be better is the jog wheel is better intergrated to Traktor and I personaly like better a knob to set lenght of loops with. The DDJ SX is a standalon mixer witch I as a VMS user ca’t live without. It has larger buttons for almost everything, touch strip, Talkover and if your not a scratch DJ it would do much better as a traktor controller the the S4. I will be mapping it to Traktor so if I don’t like the Serato DJ it gets a traktor sticker on it
I have the S1, had the S4 and an F1 with Scratch, and still have a MF3d. The S1 was awesome. Pioneer nailed their first controller and can’t wait to see what happens with this one
I really really want MF3d to play well with DJ. Please
Can you expand on that more, what can the S4 do that the T1 can’t, i know it has better job wheels. They look like they can do pretty much the same thing. What makes the s4 so amazing?
Care to expand upon that statement? Both manipulate current, up to date software which allow you to play exactly the same audio files, so what you’ve said makes no sense. If you are refering to the mechanical interface, then there is an element for debate I agree, although the end result is the same.

[/quote] Only referring to the hardware. It wasn’t Traktor Vs Serato he was asking. The new technology has better ways to manipulate both softwares. This thread IMO is like a Iphone 2 vs Iphone5, which is better?
1: It won’t be - the S2/S4 use a different system to talk to Traktor.
2: Dirty boy…
3: I think the new Serato software looks very good, I liked Itch and it just seems a big improvement
