Im super stoked because I have been given a trial at a club near me its for a new student night they are doing.
They said they want electro/dud music which is good because thats my style
However they said they would like some chart music remixes in there. Makes sense really if its a student night
Anyways im on the hunt for some good remixes of charty kinda songs e.g.
-Born this way (Dada life remix)
-Feel so close ( Nero remix)
-Bounce (Michael woods remix)
-Cinema (laidback luke remix)
-Set fire to the rain (thomas gold remix)
-the bad touch (prime remix)
Anyways you get the picture - really commercial and well known songs
So in short, you want other people to find music for you and/or benefit off the time other DJ’s used to research music because you want to take a gig you aren’t ready for?
Um, I also agree with the answer from sobi too. As I am learning, it seems preparation is a very, very important part of being a good DJ. Part of the prep is also finding the music you want to play. Although with the internet, it is much easier to find music, you still need to do the “foot work” yourself. Even if nice DJs list of some possible tracks, you still have to go find them AND pay for them!
My only suggestion is search for the pop titles you’re looking for in Amazon MP3 or BeatPort (or any other popular internet music store) and look for the remixes of those titles. There are plenty out there to find and some are truely gems.
I swear this question comes up every two weeks here. It’s pretty simple, go on iTunes, look at what’s in the charts, find the single/EP, buy the remixes. Listen to them.
pitbull, give me everything (jump smokers remix), absolute banger
dev, in the dark (static revenger remix)
example, stay awake (moam remix)
lady gaga vs madonna vs david guetta, born to express love
failing that check out the chart on Radio 1 - Listen Live - BBC Sounds or ministry of sound radio, find a song and search on beatport or whatever you use and follow the title with “remix”
