Is my Xone 1D broken?

Got a Xone 1D in last week. Started to map it tonight. I want the jogwheel to be able to scroll through a playlist, then use one of the four directional presses to load them into a corresponding deck (left is A, up is B and so on).

But when i try to map this, the learn function on Traktor 2 interprets a downpush on the jogwheel with the same note as an uppush? It just triggers the same midi-note…

I tried to play around with this for a bit, and if i press down really hard on the jog and fiddle with it, i can get it to trigger it’s own unique note. But when i map this to the corresponding control.. when i press it again (without pushing down really heard) it triggers both notes :/.

Is my Xone broken or is this some kind of behaviour that is explainable?

Nobody with a 1D here?

try using a midi monitor program to see what is coming out of your 1D independent of traktor. this will show the raw message from the 1D and perhaps reveal if there is a problem with the unit or if something is freaking out in traktor. if you’re on a mac, this is a great tool for tracking down problems:

make sure the 1D is in traktor mode (see manual)

when i had the 1’ds i am sure i had the same problem in traktor but i fixed it

and if you have other midi controllers plugged make sure you are on a different channel or make sure you ain’t double mapping buttons
