is there an easy way to transfer Trakor Files?
I had everything sweet on my old dell but new I5 lappy came today, so got it all ok with itch etc and itunes but even though i backed up the traktor folder from my old dell i cannot import the playlists i created and backed up.
The serato way is simple, you just backup my music folder, run serato and do a scan for lost files, my question is does traktor have a simple and similar way to import music collections when new laptops are being used??
Why cant you import the playlists.
This is possible with Traktor.

how are you trying it? If you go to the iTunes folder in Traktor you can right click on a playlist and import it in to the collection.
need more info on your prodecdure.
Are you using iTunes? Its easier than just using Traktor if you have identical iTunes on both laptops.
If you import the Collection.nml from laptop 1 into laptop 2 all the playlists will come with it.
But the tunes will be missing showing the ‘!’
Just do a relocate on the collection and all the files will be found in the playlists.
There are many ways to copy over playlist.
Drag the tunes from a playlist onto an iTunes playlist then Export the iTunes XML and then import it into the new laptop itunes. As long as the songs exist on the new laptop the playlist will be intact. Then just import it into Traktor.
It did pick up the folders but would not load in to the decks a or b as it seems its cannot locate the actual file, which is a bummer, but i have a serato backup which is good, but i should not have to use serato to do this if i am trying to move to traktor.
No not using itunes, i did run the serato crate import program on old laptop, but i did not actually back up traktor database or itunes database, all i did was copy traktor folder in my docs, then moved it to new laptop after installing traktor but nothings working.
Do you get any error messages when Traktor starts up?
No error messages when starting at all.
You have either:
A) installed an old version of Traktor that will not load the collection
B) not located your mp3s on your new system (right click collection, run consistency check)
Yeah moving the Traktor folders is right but all the paths to the tracks will point to the old hard drive.
So as long as all the tunes are present on the new HD you will be able to relocate them.
Have you imported your Music Folder and Traktor collection..?
I have access to my old laptop so whats the best way of keeping all playlists in traktor that have nothing to di with itunes as i am going around in circles here and its the same version of traktor pro.
Uninstalled traktor and re installed it and used old backup traktor folder, it worked ok by picking up some serato playlists but missed fresh ones i made in traktor but its 90% ok, thanks for the help guys you did indeed help me and i am gratefull
