Issue with Midi Fighter Utility 2.90 on macOS 15.3.2

Hi,

First time installing the Midi Fighter Utility on macOS. Had to jump through hoops to get it installed but now that it is I’m having problems connecting to the Twister.

With the Twister connected, the app opens but keeps switching every second or so between a page saying “NO MIDIFIGHTER DETECTED” and the main screen.

The main screen shows Model: “Midi Fighter Twister” and Firmware: “02 Oct 2019 (Update avaliable)”.

I’ve tried different USB cables and different connections on the Mac (M4 Mini), but get the same issue. Sometimes the app crashes, but not always … the rest of the time I just quit it, but I can’t get it to see the Twister as reliably connected.

The Twister is recognised and seems to be working for basic macro control in Ableton Live 11 (I’d actually like to get the sequencer running but that doesn’t seem to be working), I just can’t get the Utility to work.

Do you have any other midi devices connected by any chance? They can sometimes interfere with detection on 2.90 and older.

Try following These instructions. If you still have issues lmk and I’ll loop you in the beta utility which handles device connection in a more reliable way

Thanks @padi_04 , I did have other devices connected. After disconnecting them I was able to get the Utility to recognise the Twister and update the firmware.

I still get the same issue after plugging in my other devices, so hopefully the new version will resolve that as it’s a pain to have to pull everything out to get it working. But at least I have a work around for now.

Thanks for replying so quickly!

One of the big changes in the new version is preventing other devices from getting in the way so this will be a problem of the past soon :slightly_smiling_face:

Sounds good. Thanks again.
