Has anyone downloaded iTunes 11 yet? Does it break integration with Traktor?
tried it and it still works with Traktor 2.6 and iTunes 11 (on my mac)
I’m going to install it here in a bit on a PC. Ill let you know how it goes. I doubt it breaks it but so far I think I might be keeping 10.7 on my laptop just because I don’t think I like all the streamlined looks.
its crap.
Did it not integrate well?
As long as my smart playlists show up I will be happy. I saw a video from Gizmodo that showed all the features and it looks nice and clean. I saw the playlists and it looks like smart lists are still there. Now to find out if it still works with Traktor fine. Just got to wait for my boss to leave work so I can bust out the laptop and install it.
it has added a bpm count though, dont know if thats been on there before
nah. that’s been there for a while.
It actually counts bpm or you mean it just has a field for BPM tags? It’s had the latter for a while but I haven’t yet seen a version that actually calculates BPM of songs.
As for the ugly look - you can change that (at least you can in older versions) by going to the View menu and choosing “As List”
hm must have missed that. i don’t see it ![]()
Well I installed the update on Windows 7 and everything is working normally as it should inside Traktor ![]()
OK so after running it through the paces and checking it out. I like it.
From a DJ point of view the only thing i ever user is playlists anyways and its all tucked right under one button. I like it it only shows the lists on the left instead of all the junk at the top. (Music, movies, apps, etc)
From a non DJ perspective I LOVE IT. It all just flows. The store is the same as my other devices. Everything is streamlined and easy to navigate. I like knowing that if I am in the music drop down that music is all I’m going to see and nothing else. There are little things too that I like. For instance when you click on album it opens a little menu below it with details and it takes on the color of the album art. The mini player is going to get used way more now because its awesome. All the important functions are there including some additions like recently played, coming up tracks, and my favorite the option to search for things.
I think it was a good change for them to make.
Are you on Windows? The menu may be in a different place, but on my Mac the menus are File, Edit, View, Controls, etc… Clicking “View” the top menu choice is “As List” with a shortcut key Command-Option-3 (try Control-Alt-3 on windows).
It’s definitely different and faster for sure. I’m going to reserve judgement until I actually figure out what they’ve done though. Is there some kind of support group for men who like to read manuals and watch tutorial videos? ![]()
I’ve downloaded it on my work computer and hated it for around 5 minutes until i got back into comfort with it but after about an hour of use at work i really seem to enjoy it. Away to download it onto my Macbook Pro and see how it compares ![]()
I like seeing music I bought at home in my list of songs on my work computer.
I don’t like not having the recommended sidebar on the right. You can get recommendations, but you have to go to the store via the album page in iTunes. I don’t see a way to easily do it.
To get the old sidebar back, just go in to view>show sidebar. Don’t know about recommendations, though.
Yeah, I’ve got the sidebar on the left. The recommendation one is the one i miss.
I did the normal workflow of setting BPM to new iTunes tracks via Traktor (2.6), using iTunes 11 last night. No problems.
