Just bought an Oxygen 8 :D

Just bought an Oxygen 8

Hey guys, just bought an Oxygen 8 V2 Midi Keyboard and I’m having a few issues with it. (It’s a used keyboard so that might be the problem for one thing)

So first of all, when I load up Traktor, the mapping that I download from DJTT doesn’t seem to work properly in that some buttons don’t appear to do what they do in the video that Ean put out in March. Also, the echo knob (the first, top left knob of the 8) causes a lot of jitteriness and a lot of parameters seems to be jumping all over the place. I can make a video if you need some clarification as to what that means.

Do I just have to keep reloading the TSI file or might I have to clean my oxygen 8 keyboard or what?

Thanks all. Let me know if you need a video.

Did you do these steps from the read me file…

As for the jittery knobs; they could be getting worn out, but i’m betting it’s just the mapping acting funny if you haven’t updated the oxygen with the .xml in enigma.

I didn’t do any of those things nor knew I needed to
Thanks a bunch

I haven’t tried it yet but will Enigma work on a Mac?

So i’ve got enigma downloaded and the XML file opened on enigma, but for some reason the up arrow is grayed out..

my oxygen 8 is on and everything and plugged into my computer via the usb cable so i’m not sure what’s wrong with it.

Also another thing: is it normal lfor the red numbers in the display to be constantly moving between numbers. it doesnt stay on one but continues to change between numbers. for instance right now it’s rapidly going between 111 and 112…

ah never mind, got it working. i had to refresh the device list

Urgggh sorry for the reposts but it’s just not quite there. Instead of GM Midi, it just keeps saying GM preset. And then when I upload the TSI into traktor, it doesn’t work. Heck, the oxygen 8 doesn’t even register as MIDI as the blue light in the top left doesnt show any midi input…

I’m not sure, but it sounds like some of you potentiometers are acting up. That would cause the red numbers to change erratically like that.

how might that be fixed?

If you’re decent with a soldering iron it’s a pretty easy fix. Just open it up, check what the resistance on the pot is(most of them are marked on the knob side at the top), get a new one and then it’s just a matter of swapping it out.
To find out which one’s are going bad, turn all the knobs all the way down. Then one by one turn each knob up all the way, when the jumping number is in the 100’s, the knob that’s turned up is glitching.

I have yet to use a soldering iron once in my life… good thing i’ll be practicing on a 30$ piece of equipment
