I just got booked to do the sunrise set of an event coming up here in Santa Fe, NM. I’m hugely excited, and, frankly, honored as can be. Us New Mexicans cherish our sunrise sets, so I’m slightly more than a little nervous about this particular gig.
Anyone here have any sunrise tips? Any tunes that I have to play in the morning? I play deep/tech house, minimal and a spattering of techno. Sometimes some breaks tracks, but usually not. Any chill tunes that you guys like to bust out when the sun starts to come up?
These two tracks are both definite possibilities

ps… If you are in the Northern New Mexico/ Southern Colorado area PM me for details !
For me a sunrise set would be like chilled out bass music. a lot slower then house, around 100bpm or slower.. but thats just me and my scene over here.
Never been to a sunrise set but the sunset sets I’ve been to have tended to be slow house music with a Baleiric feel. Awesome atmospher!! I’d feel honoured too mate. Good on ya!
Probably won’t be playing any bass music, but thanks for the suggestion. I’m going to try to stick around the 115 bpm range, and maybe creep up to 120.
Matrick, that edit is great! Thanks.
Kooper, checking out some Balearic charts on BP… Perfect
Sunrise is usually when everyone wants to cool down and start relaxing, I would go with some melodic deep house tracks, bring people to a cloud of happiness! That’s what I would do and might do in a few weeks, trying to score that time slot at an upcoming party!
