Just switched to Traktor from Torq: can I still use my Connectiv as soundcard?
Title says it all. Does the Conectiv audio interface only work for Torq, or can I use it as my interface for TP too? Thanks!

it’ll work fine with TP, no worries.
What the spaniel said.
Thanks for the quick replies. Good looking out as always!
But not traktor scratch.
nice, good catch with the scratch.
I also made the switch (mainly for traktors awesome midi capabilities), my connectiv works beautifully…
Why wouldn’t it work with scratch? timecode is timecode, as long as the connective sends the signal (and you use traktor tcv’s) I don’t see why it wouldn’t work… (DRM/licensing aside)
Native Instruments has locked traktor scratch software to traktor soundcards. (+ some “certified” mixers.)
timecode isnt just timecode either. torq, serato and traktor are all have different timecode signals.
btw this post isn’t aimed at you MPJ, just using your quote as the example.
Oh god, this one again. I know for a fact that a cracked version of TSP will work with timecodes through a Connectiv. I know because I’ve seen it done, not just heard anecdotes.
I don’t know about a properly licenced version, but the point is moot anyway because you can’t usually buy a licence without a soundcard.
Stick to TP and you’ll be fine ![]()
You could buy the certified upgrade couldn’t you? You know I claim that to be true but I haven’t tested it so I can’t be 100% sure. Anyone have any proof?
You’re right, however my point was that timecode (in any format) is just an audio signal… so as long as the connectiv passes audio properly, you can use any timecode through it…
NI locking tsp to their hardware isn’t all that surprising.. m-audio did the same thing with torq… to the point were the connectiv actually acts as a security dongle…
yeah i really didn’t like the dongle part bc as a student, sometimes you want to just mess around with the program (using your keyboard) in the little free time you have. connecting the dongle was always annoying. I really liked torq but switched bc of the instability. torq 2 fixed the dongle problem, but there are still tons of problems with torq 2 (based on the torq forums). anyways, good discussion!
