Korg NanoKey, nanoKontrol, nanoPAD / Finally something useful

Korg is coming up with some midi controllers that might be incredible useful. The prices in the link at the top might not be fixed, I think they will come out for 99$ each or something like that. The nanoPad is really awesome for controllerism  I will buy at least one, perhaps two for 4 decks.

I was just going to post something about the nanopad as well

It looks really really interesting

I agree, huge thumbs up to Korg.

I’m hoping & praying these will be able to be chained.

but is there any innovation? the nano pad just looks like a small padkontrol…ok its great but nothing new…or?

Its the shape that does it for me, its nice and slim so it easily fits between you and whatever equipment you may have running. Also having a ton of devices like this is the next best thing to modular units - you can easily line up a few to have a pretty decent customised work surface.

I too hope they can be chained !

Cant wait to see these in person

The nanopad will be the cheapest device i know of that has a XY pad on it too !

I will def be getting at least 1 of those. Awesome form factor + price. Hopefully we see more products like this which can be used to cheaply complement our existing setups.

+1 on the great form factor. Perfect for studio desks and on the road setups. Definitely going to pick up the nanoPad.

I wonder if that’s the same expected release date for the US, as well.

Initial hand-on reviews agree: “A bit plasticky and flimsy, but you can’t beat the price”. Good, because it sounds like you’ll be replacing them fairly often.

The NanoKontrol would be pretty cool to do full rebuild mod on. Solder out all the parts and replace them for quality/larger components in a new shell. It would probably work out cheaper than one of those DIY kits with the same quantity of inputs and consume less time. That way it would be as sturdy as you make it.

ha they look great, love the quote “It’s hard to overstate how cheap and plasticky these things are. The faders are tiny and toy-like, the cases would need to be taped down to stop them moving across the table.”

Just received nanoKontrol

As expected feels pretty disposable - but good layout and control response. Will see how it holds up. Have to remap. Painted mine black.

Did anyone find a good tks for the NanoPad and Traktor? I tried using the Roll-Effect with an FX-Knob, but found it firing a bit too fast (even on the lowest point). Is there a way to slow this down?

NanoPad on it’s way home! Hope I can get a few hours next week to play with Traktor Pro and the Nano…

Tigris: I will have a look as well to this issue. Please post any solution(s) if you find any.

Where did you buy yours? I ordered one from DJDeals.com but they were out of stock. Then I ordered from another site… also out of stock. :disappointed:

Currently I have the Korg connected via USB-Hub, I’ll try changing that as soon as my USB-Express-Card arrives.

www.sweetwater.com - Oops…Now they have placed a note that they are taking pre-orders!

Yeah Bento, the pad and the knob one in ONE controller! shaped like an L but with some angle! You build it ?!

Sure the price rocks on these, I might buy one of those just to test how it is

Got mine from musicstudiodirect.com. Great customer service. For me it seems the nano might work better upside down under the vci-100 se. More room around the rotaries. I don’t know what that means as far as assigning - especially sweeps on rotaries. Seems like it might be cool though. I was wondering about setting one of the buttons, Now top 1 (far right) - to turn deck 1 controls on se into deck 3 controls and Bottom 1 to turn deck 2 controls into deck 4 controls. Also using the rest for effects and parameters. I am thinking though that with Pros new move to simplicity, Ean’s tsi for the se maybe so inclusive that there is no need for a second controller.

Or simpler with numbers this way
