Krk rokit or VXT?

Krk rokit or VXT?

I realized that my cheap 2.1 Philips speakers are not enough anymore.
I was looking at Krk rokit 6/8. Are rokit 6 enough for bedroom studio?

What about VXT series? I can get a pair of used VXT 4 for 360€.

Thanks

I use the 6’s and they’re wicked.

Same for 5’s, but I have Wharfedale Titan 15A’s for ‘back-up’

@ OR - after endless crappy YouTube videos (‘check this packaging’, ‘oohhh - the KRK logo lights up when you turn them on’, ‘I think this is your XLR, input…uh, yes it is’) - what are the guidelines for HF VOLUME ADJUSTMENT - thanks mate.

VXT’s are the better of the 2 makes, but I wouldn’t get any less than 6’s brand new…

I popped in HTFR and had a listen to the 5’s the other day for the money they are superb, think i’ll be picking a pair up soon

:rage: only get the 4’s in the VXT range in South Africa :rage:

well a pair of standard KRK 8’s are 200 and a pair of KRK 5’s are 90

should i go with the vxts, pair of 8’s or 4 krk 5’s

I like the YAMAHA HS80M’s personally. the sound is more accurate. perhaps a separate sub is required to enhance bass as these speakers aren’t “monitors” their “studio” speakers. but this allows you to control the bass more precisely.

I had a listen to these aswell, real nice crisp sound but like you say I felt like it needed a sub for a bit more umphhh!

Whoa! Link for those 8s???

That’s dirt cheap indeed!

Get a pair of Rokit 8’s… I have 'em.. for the money I don’t think you’ll find anything better on the market currently. I originally bought them for studio use (for which they are average), but they produce a decent amount of low end which makes for a good DJ monitor. If you wind up getting anything smaller than an 8" driver you’re recorded mixes are going to have way too much bass since you won’t hear it during your mix and you’ll crank it up to compensate… but then when you listen to your mix on a system capable of producing lower frequencies it will be way too bass heavy (in an unpleasant way).

thats why i don’t like “monitors” and prefer “studio” speakers but of course price always plays a part in anyone’s decisions.

i dont have any real experience with this myself but i heard so often that the krk 8s had to much low end for clean producing. i just always thought to myself that when you produce club music for bass heavy systems that the most important part is to know how it will sound with tons of bass. the krk 8s have a real nice clean bass to them but unless you use a sub i feel like its still way less bass heavy than most clubs.

I love my Rokit 8s! But my neighbors hate me

Get a subwoofer if you can for maximum annoyance of neighbors.
