Looking to pay for help with mapping project

All,

I am struggling to map my VCI 380 controller to traktor. I am willing to pay for help. I don’t want someone to just do it for me. My goal is to end with the mapping I wish and have the skills to do it myself in the future. At this point I am mainly struggling with modifier conditions. Also there is some weirdness where some of the VCI 380 buttons work with a mapping command and some don’t.

please contact me directly ari.oberman@gmail.com. The ideal person has a great deal of experience with both tractor and this/ or another similar vestax controller. I am in southern california, but we can work remotely via screen sharing too.

I hope this is the right location for this request.

Have you contacted any mapping service if you are willing to pay to get exact mapping that you need?

I am not exactly sure what you mean. Is there a separate thread to discuss mapping services?

Probably best to contact me directly to discuss.

There isn’t such a thread, far as I know. I’ve suggested you to search internet for a custom mapping service and look for solution from there.

I know a bit about settin’ modifiers and shit but my camera’s mic isn’t working so the way you’re looking to discuss to mapper isn’t gonna work tho…

Thanks for the response. Hopefully I will hear from others in this forum.

No problem mate. I wish you luck on your project and if you don’t find any solution to your request and got some questions let me know… I’m always here to help and it’s for free! Isn’t like few bucks is going to make any difference in my life

some of the buttons that won’t map are probably hardware only, like selector buttons for shift and the pad fx?

Exactly! The shift button below the 8 pads and the 4 buttons above the pads for FX.

Does this mean that it is not fully midi mappable?

Why would vestax do this?

Any suggestions?

yeah, they’re hardware shift buttons, the parts they change, e.g pad fx will change the midi notes of the pads so you can map more than 1 thing to the pads without the use of modifiers - pretty standard across most controllers

Hey BradCee, you are right to say that VCI-380 buttons are sending different midi notes depending on is shift pressed or not. I found same concept at pioneer DDJ-s1 controller for which I have started traktor mapping before two weeks.

As for performance grid buttons. If those can’t send midi it is likely that Vestax have made those buttons to act as page selectors for eight pads matrix by firmware (like maschine). It means - depend of which of four buttons is pressed it might send different notes so you can spare another modifier or two when mapping pads as four banks of controls.
