Just to offer another opinion on the ‘not having turntables = not needing Scratch certification’ - I brought an x1600 a couple years ago (I chose it over the DJM700 largely for the better feeling faders & level indicators) and at the time I could never see myself getting into the whole ‘digital DJing’ thing so the Scratch certification was of no interest to me.
Fast-forward 2 years and innevitably I got the itch to try out Traktor, and when the time came to ordering the software I discovered that I could save a load of cash purchasing just the software/timecode kit (99Euros) as my mixer was Scratch certified.
I’m not saying it’s the sole reason to go with the x1600, but as we all know our tastes in gear/setups have a tendancy to change and if there is a chance the OP might want to get TTs in the future it would be a smart choice- especially considering how little else there is to chose between the x1600 and the DJM750.
Also I’m not sure what you are referring to Makar1 when you say only Pioneer have reliable device drivers for their interfaces? I’ve not had any issue with mine (one driver to install and then it is essentially plug & play with Traktor), and as a member of both the Pioneer & Denon forums I wouldn’t say there are any great issues with either? I would have thought problems in this area would more likely be related to the computers themselves than the drivers, as if two people download the same driver and it works with one & not the other I can’t see how that can be a driver issue?
I’m not trying to argue a point, I’m just genuinely curious as it’s something I’ve been trying to learn more about since adding a digital setup.
