Loop build up

Loop build up

Wondering how its done. Not sure how I can explain it but people should know what im talking about i think its pretty comon thing…probs really easy to do too but i have no clue so thats why im posting. but yeh i hear people use like a loop and filter or something to get a buildup or transition into another song. I played around with doing a loop and increasing the filter and stuff but i dont know doesnt seem the same.

so if u know what im talking about it would be appreciated if you help me out but ill try find an example.

thanks

i’ve got the prime example i uploaded on facebook but deleted the original file

Possibly the tune me thinks but its a loop wound down slowly. As in not just halfed and halfed again. If youve seen the djm600 you can do it with loops on that. Then its filtered and then it sounds like its tone/key is messed with and just chopped in and out.

thanks I’ll have a mess around try playing with the key also and see how it sounds. I had a play with halving the loop and adding a filter and then increasing that gradually and that got me a nice effect but still seems to be lacking something. anyways I’ll try what you said but I’m not sure how to gradually bring down the loop only thing I can do on Traktor is halving so if there is a way to do it as you said let me know

THere is a fine adjust on loops in traktor under the move section i think. You should be able to fine adjust loop end maybe.

Give it a go see what happens

mmm..couldnt find it. could you be more specific

Sure can , just tested it.

If you set a loop then click the Move button on the deck. within there you get all the beatjump optsions etc …

Drop down box on left hand side select Loop Out. In the panel in the middle where it says 1 2 4 8 16 32 etc .. At the far left of the scale you should find “Fine” or even “XFine”. Select one of these and then use the arrows on the right to finly adjust the loop you have set. If you have set a 1 beat loop you can slowly wind it down to a proper fine stutter… Niiiiiiiiice

Let me know if your still havin difficulty

Gav

Hey thanks Gav works a charm now just need to map that shit!

mmm can it be mapped? was planning to make my search buttons control the arrows when got modifier button on but not sure how to map those arrows..anyway to do so?

I think you need to be lookin at…
cue/loop move mode, cue/loop move size & cue/loop move

The first will allow you to select what it is you want to move ie loop beat loop in loop out etc ..

The secone one will allow you to select by how much ie 1 2 4 8 etc .. in your case xfine:slight_smile:

The third is th eone your after that allows you to actually perform the moving

Hope that helps. Any more probs just give me a shout.

Gav

Gav mate you’ve been such a great help thanks heaps man. I had a quick look at what you said and tried it out and it works but need to tweak it. So far if I assign it to a button I have to press the button every time and Xfine means a lot of clicking so gona try play around see if I can get a way to do it smoothly but yeh. Thanks so much.

No probs… if you turn on auto repeat(should be a tick box) you should be able to hold the button instead of clicking it for every move.

got it  thanks

This video explains it quite well:

Pretty sure this is what you are talking about :stuck_out_tongue:

thanks rt24. think thats kinda like what im talking about…
