[Mac:Patchbay] Dual VCI-100

[Mac:stuck_out_tongue:atchbay] Dual VCI-100

Si Se Puede! (You can do it!)

What you need

1 Mac computer
2 VCI-100, works with firmware 1.3
Midi Patchbay (Free) http://notahat.com/midi_patchbay

Once you hook up the two vci’s open Audio Midi Setup and rename the vci’s.
VCI-100 #1 & VCI-100 #2 so you can tell in MidiPatchbay which vci you sending all the midi to channel #2

Once that is taken care of save you setting on MidiPatchBay. And Open Traktor up and goto the midi settings. If both vci’s show up ur good, now its time to remap the 2nd vci to decks C/D. BTW there is no midi out for the 2nd vci.

But what about the PC guys? Well I was able to change the midi channel thru Midi Ox. But I dont have traktor installed on my VmFusion so if anyone in L.A. wants to meet up I would like to give this a shot.

pixnowplz

Sounds like we need to let our powers combine and form captain planet, err captain vci

i’m so down. i’ve been trying to map out how it would work in my head but i really want to try this.

thanks for the info!

i have a temp *.tks ill post it in the morning when I wake up…Im faded ATM to remember where the hell I left it…BTW happy Cinco De Mayo!

Does this work with firmware 1.2, and would it even be necessary to switch all the controls to deck C/D since you could just use the modifier to do that from the DJTT TSI?

This shouldnt be a problem with fw 1.2 being that your changing the midi ch outside of traktor. In regards to the modifier, im not big on T-PRO, so I couldnt answer that question.

When I open midipatchbay only one VCI controller shows up. Could this be a result of only having 1.2fw

thats fine if only 1 vci shows up, send all msg to midi ch 2 and open traktor up and start mapping

but how does that work if I want one VCI to be on MIDI CH 2 and the other on MIDI CH 1

do I add a patch? to get 2 to appear to rename them?

Maybe I’m missing something horribly obvious here, but couldn’t you just set one controller to midi channel 1 and the other to midi channel 2 and you’d be all set?

I just realized I missed the step with the Audio Midi setup in Mac, unfortunately my Mac isn’t detecting the VCI in the Audio Midi setup? Both VCI’s are plugged in

hook up 1 vci and rename it to VCI-100 #1, then unplug it, hook up the 2nd vci and rename it to VCI-100 #2 then plug both in. I should be home in 1hr to give it a try.

I got the 2 VCI to show up in Audio MIDI setup but changing the settings in MIDI Patchbay doesn’t do anything. Both VCI’s are still sending the same msgs.

do you have aim?

just hotmail

if you guys live in the states i would be able to help you over the phone if you want, gotta love MetroPCS (Broke Mans Fone)

Hey so I just did a simple channel change on the VCI with firmware 1.2, that made it much easier. Now comes the hard part, mapping it all together. If someone can help me sort this out i’d really appreciate it. I’m using the latest TSI file, what I want to do is have the 2nd VCI control all deck C/D functions. The only thing i’m concerned about is how can I have all the beat juggle, and Fader FX modes enabled for decks C/D without interfering with my Decks A/B. Here’s a scenario, so i’m set in beat juggle mode on decks A/B, if my partner changes the modifier on his controller to Fader FX mode, then it changes my mode to Fader FX in A/B. Hope that makes sense

I’m looking at setting 2x VCI’s this coming Sunday and really need to know how to do this.
I’ve read on multiple occasions that you can hold a button down when booting up the VCI and it switches it to channel 2, but I haven’t managed to find out exactly what this button is…
Little help?
